Zambian Dawn Safaris is an owner-operated safari company focused on providing classic tented mobile safaris for groups no larger than six people in truly remote Zambian wilderness. These wilderness areas are not only home to some of Africa’s most iconic animals such as lion, leopard, elephant, cheetah, hippo and giraffe, but they are also a bird watchers paradise with over 400 species of bird recorded in the areas we operate in. David & Una Bowden provide the highest levels of service and personal attention to make sure our guests experience of Zambia’s pristine environment is conducted in ultimate comfort and in the true spirit of adventure. David Bowden conducts his safaris in the wildlife areas of the Kafue National Park and Luangwa Valley. Our safaris are run in the style of the classic tented safari with all the details and standards of a high class fixed camp, but mobile. This allows Zambian Dawn Safaris to visit areas where there are no camps and lets visitors experience the mind blowing wildlife and scenery of Zambia in remote locations. Zambian Dawn Safaris can also operate in other areas of Zambia depending on demand.

Throughout a Zambian Dawn Safari, guests can explore the Zambian bush by boat, on foot and from the back of open-top 4x4s. When the sun goes down, night drives can be conducted to see the nocturnal wildlife at work. The whole concept of a Zambian Dawn Safari is to take each day at a time and to be flexible, adaptable, but above all else, mobile. Safaris cater for up to six guests in order to ensure exclusivity. David Bowden, an experienced guide, has great in depth knowledge of the bush and conducts his safaris with such enthusiasm that all guests are completely submerged in the Zambian experience.

On a six night safari, guests will overnight at a minimum of three mobile camp locations. At some locations you may only stay one night, another up to two or three nights – it all depends what guests wish to do. Zambian Dawn Safaris will provide the essential bush ingredients – great guiding, top quality food and wine, hot bucket showers, luxury ‘sand flush’ toilets and ice cold drinks throughout. On camp moving day, guests will do their safari activity of choice while our friendly camp staff dismantle and move camp. By the end of the day, guests will be a in a completely new location, in a new camp, but with the same comfort and luxury expected of a Zambian Dawn Safaris mobile. 

The safaris themselves will focus on the extensive wildlife, the environment, and the 350-400 species of birds recorded in these areas. Zambian Dawn Safaris will adapt to your safari requirements, whether it be purely photographic, an ornithological focus, all out walking or to simply just relax. We will ensure that our guests experience the sights, sounds and smells of Africa, but they will also see the wide skies, huge vistas, sunsets, and the start of the day with a Zambian Dawn!
